Havana, June 16 (AIN) Leaders of 14
political parties and personalities in Jordan
condemned the terrorist actions committed against Cuba over the past 40 years and
demanded the release of the five Cuban political
prisoners in US jails. The first vice-president
of the Cuban Friendship Institute Enrique
Román, who is visiting that Arab nation, received the message
of the Jordanian organizations in solidarity
with Cuba. The Cuban Five, as the youths incarcerated
in the United States, are known around the
world, infiltrated Miami-based terrorist organizations
in order to keep the Cuban people informed on criminal plans
against the island, such as many terror actions
organized with total impunity in the US and
carried out against Cuba over the past four
decades. The Solidarity with the Cuban Five Committee,
made up of Jordanian and Palestinian friends of
Cuba, agreed to denounce and let people know the
inhumane punishment imposed on the antiterrorists youths by a
biased Miami court. During a
meeting with the Cuban official in the Arab nation, Jordanian personalities agreed to set up a committee in charge
of founding the Jordan-Cuba Solidarity
Association, which will let the people of that
region know about Cuban reality and the struggle being waged
by the Cuban people for development and in
defense of their economic, social and political
achievements. During the meeting, which was also
attended by Cuba's ambassador to Jordan Claudio
Ramos, the vice-president of the Cuban Friendship
Institute offered participants a detailed explanation on the
current situation in
Cuba, which is marked by threats launched by the
warmongering US administration. Enrique Román
also met with the Cuban community in Amman, the Jordanian capital, and he held talks with Nabih Jamil Shukum,
director of the Americas and Europe Division at
Jordan's Foreign
Ministry.
