President Bashar al-Assad has received on Monday a “message of solidarity from Cuban parliamentarians to the friendly people of Syria while facing pressures Syria is exposed to.”

The President thanked when meeting a Cuban parliamentarian delegation the friendly Cuban people for feelings of solidarity asking the head of the delegation to convey to President Fidel Castro his greetings.

“ Talks have dealt with ties of friendship and cooperation standing between the two countries and the best means to boost them mainly on the economic field,” a statement said.

Deputy Head of the National Council for the Popular Authority in Cuba headed the delegation in presence of the Cuban ambassador in Damascus.

Meantime, Speaker of the People’s Assembly talked on Monday with the Cuban visiting delegation on means of boosting and developing bilateral relations between the two countries mainly the parliamentarian ties.

“ Talks have touched upon ties of friendship and solidarity as well boosting the people and government of Cuba to Syria in facing pressures she is exposed to,” the People’s Assembly statement said.

Head of the Cuban delegation underlined the very deep historical ties between the two friendly countries and the must to deepen and boost them to the better.

He stressed the need to identify terrorism and differentiate between it and occupied peoples right to liberate themselves.

“ today’s world is unilaterally dominated by one party which is making use of fighting terrorism title as a pretext to occupy the peoples lands and oppress their them as to prevail all over it, the statement said.

For his part, Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash Thanked the Cuban people solidarity with Syria stressing that foreign pressures she is exposed to are due to her just stances that pours into the world and the region stability and security.

He said that the occupation nightmare the region is living has led to a state of political, economic and social tension that matter that calls all the world countries to contribute to restore stability to the this part of the world due to the geographical and economic importance of this part of the world.

He underlined the need of cooperation between the region states and the Latin American countries for their joint interest.
