Please accept fraternal greetings on behalf of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.

Our Institute welcomes a new edition of the May Day World Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba. This third edition will gather friends coming from all over the world who would like to share the celebrations for the International Workers Day with the working class and the Cuban people.

The program prepared for this occasion includes visits to places of historical, cultural, economical, and social interest, lectures about diverse updating topics of our reality as well as the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba that will be held after the May Day central activities.

The activities of the Brigade will take place from April 21st to May 4th in Havana, Havana City, and Cienfuegos provinces with optional visits to Varadero, Santa Clara, and Trinidad. The whole stay comprises 10 nights at the “Julio Antonio Mella” International Camp (CIJAM), located in Caimito Municipality, 45 Kms. from Havana City; plus four more nights in hotels of Cienfuegos province. The camp, created in 1972, counts on adequate conditions to satisfy the collective life and the necessities of all the visiting friends coming from different parts of the world.

The voluntary work sessions will take place in CIJAM nearby areas and in Cienfuegos province. 

The full cost of stay is 300.00 CUC (Cuban Convertible Pesos), covering for accommodation in rooms shared by up to 8 people in CIJAM; three meals a day; in-out airport transfers; and transportation to all the activities included in the Program.  Optional visits are not included in the package’s price.  The cost for an additional night stay in CIJAM is 10.00 CUC.  Stay periods of less than 7 days will not be allowed.

The increasing participation in the brigade of a higher number of friends from all over the world denotes not only the motivation to know about Cuba but also that the increasing solidarity with the island is encouraged by the commitment that the Cuban Revolution arouses in its struggle against the blockade imposed by the American imperialism and for our right to be an independent and sovereign nation.

By attending the Brigade, a member is committed to comply with the Program and to keep a proper behaviour, discipline and living together standards. The consumption of drugs or any other hallucinogenic substance is totally illegal and is penalized by the prevailing legislations in our country.

As we would be pleased with your presence in the May Day World Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba, we are extending a heartfelt invitation for you to participate of it.

09:00hrs  Welcome to the brigade by the authorities of Cienfuegos province and tour to the city taking into consideration that Cienfuegos is considered Patrimony of Mankind.

14:00 hrs. Visits in groups to educational, health, and economic objectives of the city. (School of Art Instructors, Thermoelectric Company, etc.)

                 Free time at the hotel.

18:00 hrs. Dinner at the hotel.

20:00 hrs. Visit to the Committees for the Defence of the Revolution.

23:00 hrs  Return to hotel

Saturday 26

07:00 hrs. Breakfast at the hotel.

08:30 hrs. Voluntary work at a city agricultural centre or at a factory. Meeting with leaders of the Cuban Workers´ Union and Social Workers.

12:00 hrs. Lunch at the hotel.

13:00 hrs. Optional visit to Trinidad

                 Visit to  Trinidad and to the Romantic Museum 12 cuc per pax
