Havana, Aug 6 (Prensa Latina) Well-known artists
have confirmed their participation in a concert
to be run in New York to support the cause of
five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unfairly
imprisoned in US for fighting terrorism, Granma
newspaper reported Wednesday.
The concert, entitled "Five Stars and a Song,"
will take place on September with the
performance of Danny Rivera (Puerto Rico),
Victor Victor (Dominican Republic), Chuchito
Valdes (Cuba) and Estrellas Doradas del Jazz de
Puerto Rico (United States)
September 12, 2008 will mark 10 years of the
detention of Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labanino,
Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Gerardo
Hernandez, who are serving long sentences for
monitoring terrorist plans against Cuba from
Florida, the daily stated.
Alicia Jrapko, member of the International
Committee to Free the Five, was grateful to
artists and the Hostos Community College in New
York, whose auditorium has a capacity for about
1,000 people.
