The Cuban ambassador in Damascus has stressed the strong standing relations between Cuba and Syria, describing them as good particularly in the political sphere.

During a press conference he held on Wednesday on the occasion of the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Cuba, he expressed his country's desire in boosting economic and trade relations between the two countries particularly that the current volume of trade exchange between the two countries doesn't exceed USD 10 millions stressing the need to boost trade exchange in textiles, wheat, and shoes.
