DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Assistant Secretary General of
al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Abdullah al-Ahmar
on Thursday discussed with Cuban Foreign
Minister Felipe Perez Rouque the latest
developments in the region and ties between
Syria and Cuba.
Talks during the meeting dealt with relations
between al-Baath party and the Cuban Communist
party and means of enhancing them in the
interest of both countries.
"The Arab 20th summit of Damascus meets
aspirations of the Arabs to reach an Arab
unified stance in the face of pressures to which
the region is exposed," al-Ahmar said.
For his part, the Cuban Foreign Minister
expressed appreciation of Syria's courageous
stances in defending the rights of the Arab
people and achieving peace and security in the
Middle East.
