Damascus, (SANA)-Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque underlined deep-rooted friendship and cooperation between Syria and Cuba.

In a statement following his arrival in Damascus Wednesday to represent Non-Aligned Movement (NAM ) in the 20th Arab Summit, Roque said : " We have come to express on behalf of the Movement our solidarity with the Arab stances and with the Palestinian people".

He expressed confidence in the ability of the Arab countries for enhancing their solidarity under these critical situations in the region.

For his part, Soutrous Zakhuous, Envoy of Cypriot President Demetris Christofias to the summit stressed importance of the ties which link his country with the Arab countries due to the geographical proximity between the two sides.
